AKC
The American Kennel Club (AKC) is now the governing body for Shar-Pei show kennels
in the United States. They took over this role from the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of
America in 1992.
Registration Papers
The terms "registered" and "registration papers" refer to registration of a dog with the AKC.
Any full blooded shar-pei can be registered with the AKC if both parents are AKC registered.
As a breeder, I register each litter as a whole. The owner can then register an individual puppy by referencing this litter registration.
In most cases, I only authorize a limited registration, which means the puppy is not for breeding.
The AKC does not allow registration of puppies out of dogs with this type of limited registration.
